V band? You mean as in radar equipment?

V-band was a brand of turrets - Large key phones much favored by Wall Street traders E-911 dispatch centers and overworked receptionists. Picture a key phone with 50, 100, 200 buttons or more.

I used to put them in, but it's been 10-12 years since I've seen one.

They were taken over by a company called VIAX - you might try googling them.

If you don't have any luck, I could try to ask around.

Hi there Sam, I have a company in Australia that repairs VBAND systems, we support over 12 sites in Australia, let me know how I can assist you, BTW - VBAND was bought out by IPC in 2000, IPC has since stopped support on VBAND, Cheers Gary

I recall one turret ad I saw, Plant I believe, traders used the handsets to cancel calls, tossed the handset in a drawer, I guess so the ringing was muted (Off-hook-ringing), and the handsets were apparently about as bulletproof as you can make plastic! Those things took a terrible beating!

We had a Tie Meritor in the KC Board of Trade pits, that actually stood up pretty well. But, when we needed to turn off the system, we just DID IT, fixed the problem, checked operation and got the heck out of there. "You just cost me $200,000". Yeah right, then you should be using better equipment! Man I got tired of the BS in that place! frown John C.

I note that you are knowledgeable or have been associated with VBand turret/dealer board products....I have a very large inventory of several generations of VBand systems and about to literaly dump them... As a bona-fide 'nerd' I hate to do that. If you know of anyone with interest, contact me and I can give them a better description of what we have.... all equipment works and is recently out of service.

Gordon: Not sure if you still have these V Band devices.. if you do, I'd happily provide a home for it all (assuming it fits in 4 seater car!)

Looks like you're in Northridge, which I can easily drive to for pickup; I'm near Pasdena.

Or if you already found them a home, but still have pics or product catalogs, would love to see, as there's little if not nothing about V Band's stuff on the net. I used to work for V Band back in the 80's.

Hello Gary.... we posted some time ago... I am retiring and have a pile of VBand equipment... turrets and parts; 6000 and 6000 PLUS, DN, ViAX, Power Deck, speakers, you name it. If VBand made it, I have it....The problem is that you are 'down under' and we are far away. Let me know if you or anyone has any interest.....Thanks a mil... we were VBand's main installer/dealer and support o the US West Coast for years...
