I've seen previous topics like this so hopefully this is ok to ask, but I'm looking for your experiences with the following companies in the Philadelphia, PA area:
Verizon ATX Communications Cavalier Telephone
Everybody I talked to previously said ATX was the way to go, yet we interviewed 3 installers recently who said they've had major issues with ATX. Not good! We're desperate for phone service that works considering our issues with our current carrier (see posting in Comdial - PRI ECHO), but want to pick one that will be the best fit moving forward.
Our only requirement is that it works and support is there. If we buy a TDM PRI, we WANT a TDM, not VOIP PRI!!!! ATX was recently bought by Broadcom who is a VOIP player, so it almost looks like we're switching to the same situation we're in. The service will have to be moved (not too far) in less than a year so support is key
Any thoughts/opinions/experiences?

I have found it to be hit or miss around here, But issues had always been resolved EXCEPT an ATX flex-Pri (voip) I have a nursing home with 5 calavier PRIs and they seemt to work fine. I also have worked with Paetec, USLec, Cavalier, ATX, AT&T, and Focal, and it all seems to come down to how good the person in the switchroom at other end is, and how willing they are to take the time to make it right.

I have a customer in North Carolina using Cavalier without negative issues. They don't have a PRI but a T-1 with line breakout for voice. If you don't get your issues resolved with ATX then you might consider posting in the "Complaint Dept" with your troubles. Sometimes the web exposure gets results.
