I have a client that claims phantom ringing, and wrong numbers on outcalling. Some complaints from callers that calls are not being answered (Client doesn't hear phones ring). I've been told that underpowered lines can cause these symptoms. Will hot lines (51 VDC on-hook, 43 ma loop current, 2.6 - 6.6 VAC on-hook Tip to Grnd & Ring to Grnd.)also cause these problems?
Thanks in advance,

Avaya Partner ACS, R7 Just one 509 and 4 Lines. Client is gathering more details to help narrow down since trouble rarely happens while we are on site. I had a trusted tech on site that said he bypassed the system completely and still had some wrong numbers. My gut tells me its a translation problem at C.O. but I'm not sure how to prove it.
Thanks Skip

High voltage/loop current can cause your problems, even on a typical buttset. As Skip said, loop current regulators would be the 1st move. Sandman is 1 source, there are others. John C.

That loop current is the problem, it's just too high. Telco will not fix it. You need the loop current regulators from Sandman Enterprises.

Yikes, yeah, that current is way too high. Aim for about 21 mA.

Sounds like loop current regulators will be my next move. To anthonyh, yes they have done several tests and point back to Customer Equipment.
Thanks everyone!
