Dear Customer,
We can't accept complete your request at this time because we don't issue order off of personal email. I will need for you to completed the attach form from the billing party TOWN OF xxxxxxxxxxx giving your permission to add this line. Once I received this form back I can then issue your order for an additional line. It's embarrassing to admit that I worked for these fools.

Actually, the rep is a gal from Maryland. They won't let me order a POTS line over the phone. The also need an LOA which up until now they said they don't use anymore. They emailed me an LOA to fill out, but they didn't say how they want it sent back. It used to take me about 5 minutes to order service. So far I have spent an hour on this negotiation.

It's embarrassing to admit that I worked for these fools. No, sir, you haven't. The phone company that you retired from (and which hired me) was far from perfect, but played by a very different set of rules when compared to the current one...

Arthur,
I ran into the same issue about a week ago. After fighting with the rep on the phone about emailing the request in telling her I didn't use email and neither did the customer she said she couldn't help me! I didn't let her hang up and conferenced the customer in on the call (i explained everything that was going on to her) she flipped out on them and said she was cancelling her service with Verizon and all of the sudden the rep changed tunes and 1 day later the order was complete.
They make it so difficult to work with them on anything. I still have a few local techs out of our local Verizon area that will help me out with trouble calls and such because they will call with the ticket and what I've told them when they put in the ticket is a completely different description of what they get on their repair ticket and I'm usually the contact so they will call to see what is exactly happening.
They make my hair fall out at a faster rate than it already is!!

Conversely I actually had a decent experience with at&t last week. One of our POTS lines (for a FAX) was out...verified it was bad at the demarc and then called them, technician came out to repair it (bad pair outside), from phone call to ticket being closed was 2 hours!

You will be provided with a troubles ticket and the lines will be troubleshooted up to resolution. Reading this company's feeble attempts to communicate using the English language is better than HBO and Showtime, put together.
