The memory retention battery in your system has failed. It lasted the better part of 20 years, so that's a pretty good run if looking at things from a positive perspective.
The system's default settings are for only the first extension to ring on incoming calls. With the battery having failed, a power outage or even minor glitch was enough to default it to the original system programming. You'll need to either hire a local contractor to reprogram the system, or purchase a programming manual and try it yourself. There is a button at the top of this page that will put you in touch with some resources for manuals should you elect to go that route. There's also a button that will put you in touch with installers in your area.
You might want to consider either investing in a good UPS (online battery backup) or a new system. Your current situation will continue each time the power is lost, so it may be "that time". Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
An Executone distrubitor could replace the 3.6 volt back battery but you have gotten your moneys worth. The Vodavi STSe might be a good system to move up to since the CX was designed by the same folks, the layout and opperation are really close to the same.
