BlackBerry maker Research in Motion did not immediately return a phone call.
Ummm, because they all use BlackBerrys...

It's possible that the Blackberry 'servers' that some companies use for email going out to PDAs could be down...not the cellphone service itself. Found this on the web just now... "In a statement, RIM said a "data service interruption" was resulting in "intermittent service delays for BlackBerry subscribers in North America." The company said voice and text messaging services were not affected."

It was the Data plan aspect to the Blackberries or Blueberries as we call them.

Our Blackberry service was interrupted yesterday most of the afternoon. Funny thing is that most people for my company that have Windows Mobile Device kept on trucking.
We've had people that say they like Blackberry's over Windows Mobile. The only time it seems WM device have issues is if the Exchange server has a problem or the AT&T network is having issues. If you use Active Sync most of the time there are no issues because there is no need for a server at your location to run the service.
