Does anyone have recent experience with loading PC Plus v4.7 on a WinXP Pro OS? I have it on a desktop PC w/ XP Pro & it works fine. Some of my colleagues have it on laptops w/ XP Pro & it works. I just bought a Dell Inspiron 1520 w/ XP Pro and upon completion of install & reboot I get a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH which says "BAD_POOL_HEADER" & locks up the machine. It will only boot up in safe mode where I can remove PC Plus & reboot to normal mode. Is there a work around or some other method for getting this to work?

I also run 4.8 with XP Pro with no problems. Procomm Plus versions 4.0, 4.5, and 4.7 came bundled with a remote control application called "RapidRemote", which works alot like "PC duo" and other access applications that allow distant terminals with this software installed on them to access and be controlled by each other. However, this RapidRemote application in the Procomm Plus software conflicted with many newer video cards and video card drivers, and also caused severe conflicts with systems that already had other remote access applications already installed on them such as PC Duo or PC Anywhere. The RapidRemote application was dropped by Symantec from the Procomm Plus install package in version 4.8. If you're able to boot to safe mode or VGA mode, try uninstalling the Procomm Plus, then perform a custom install, and uncheck the RapidRemote checkbox during the install process.
One thing about Procomm is it will on its own without needing to be installed on XP. Simply copy the entire file folder object off of one computer and place the entire folder on the new pc. Go into the programs folder and find the PW4.exe file. Make a shortcut to your desktop and voulah it will work just like it was installed.
