More than likely stock options, vacations in the Bahamas, ect. I am on the fence with this. These people are suppose to be the tops in their field and are suppose to be responsible for the company doing well. The problem I have is the lack of accountabilty most of the high end CEOs have since most have a golden parachute written into their contracts. These are public companies so the CEO (and all other officers) salary ususally is approved by a board of directors appointed by stockholders. A CEO can turn a company around (for better or worse) so why not get the compensation. They are paid far less than these guys https://hoopshype.com/salaries.htm

If someone does a good (or great) job they certainly deserve to be justly compensated. I still have a hard time accepting anyone is worth some of the numbers that you see thrown around. One of my beefs is what was mentioned above. If things go poorly they still walk away with their huge chunk of money and the guys on the lower end get laid off, lose benefits, or lose money. If you stand to gain, you should also assume some risk. Many times part of the pay is tied to performance. I’ve seen actions taken that I feel were designed to produce a short term bump in results simply so that someone could make their objectives. Admittedly this may not have been at the CEO level but it was certainly high up on the pecking level.
However, if it were offered to me I’d take it, so I guess you can’t really blame them (or anyone else).

I regards to AT&T,I've been a stock holder ever since I was allowed to participe in the stock plan. Let me tell you it has always been a "good ole boys club" up at that level. and the shareholders can't do anything becaquse of the stock that is held by each board member or his voting rights from others. Look at the information booklet that is sent to each stockholder at dividend time It's criminal.
