Had a customer ask me a question that I can't find in the manual.

When the attendant phone is placed in DND will incoming calls immediately forward to the AA or does it still follow the timer setting?

I'll call XBlue Monday if need be, but thought one of you may know the answer.

Thanks

If you put 301 in DND I would assume the AA should still answer, it is set to “On-
AA Ring Only” isn't it?

This is a customer who's thinking about buying one, but that was one of his questions. As far as AA only to ring no because they'll need more than one phone to ring.

I know it will go to AA, but what he wants is if they push DND at the attendent for it to immediately go to AA instead of waiting for whatever we set the ring to AA timer at.

Their existing system went belly up and I just had a couple phones to get them service and he didn't want the AA set up yet since they only have a couple phones. Don't know if it will be a show stopper or not, but I can't find anything that says how DND acts at the attendent station. Thanks Russ.

I've only put in a few Bill but I don't think it will do that, you have AA on or off but no feature like your asking (I may be wrong but I've never seen it). If they need more then 1 phone ringing the I would leave “Off-AllEXT Ring” set and just set the Auto Attendant Delay Timer to like 10 or 15 sec and I would think all should be fine. And i also think you can forward a call to the AA.

Pewrhaps someone that has put in more will pop in and let you know for sure.

I too think it will follow the timer no matter what, just wanted to confirm. I don't have any phones here to give it a try or I'd just set it up to see what happens. Thanks again.

To answer your original question the AA follows the timer on verison 1, verison 2 not sure.

Thanks, I spoke to XBlue this am to confirm that also. I was pretty sure it did, but since it wasn't clear in the manual I wanted to double check. Thanks for all the replies.

On a related note, Placing the system into night only changes the AA greeting and has no effect on the ringing assignments. I only add this because as you know, on our Vodavi systems, the Attendant DND is always the Day/Night/Special button.

There a few more things I'm going to confirm once I get another KSU to test it out. Like you said Dave you get used to how one system works and ASSUME others work the same way.
