Here's the ICON Voice Networks link: https://www.iconvoicenetworks.biz/D...tation/TOS3000_Technical_Manual_V1.0.pdf www.iconvn.com gets you to Icon's website, and the back of the TOS-3000 manual has the 2 phones they have in the first release. 1.5 is scheduled for October and will add 2 phone models, a WiFi and a bigger (color?) display phone. I think the networking may be weak in current 1.0 s/w, but I'm just looking forward to giving the feel test to the sets and software set. I get to see a 2061 tomorrow morning.

Please be aware there's no voicemail notification yet other than email notification.

Correct. At the price of the system, I can get it now and try out the IP capabilities. The upgrade may or may not be here in 90 days...it's about the cycle to eval a system anyway with my schedule.

Of course a couple more storms like last night and I won't ahve to worry about revenue :-)

Wow! You would think that any shortcomings along those lines would be the opposite, as in MWL only.

The direct reflection of a change in our industry...we USED to sell Telephone systems that did all the normal functions expected with a little converged IT support.... Now we have IT appliances that sorta kinda do telephony.

I don't know about you guys, but my shelf is littered with items that "didn't quite work out."
That Venture IP system that I paid about $700 for, that Plexus that was more, the Melco Max 212, the Mobicell, the Candela Cardinal that I soled to ESI back in the 80's. The list goes on and on.

So to pay to play in a IP system that I could probably TRIPLE my money is not a bad chance. At 5 sets, it becomes fairly cost effective with a TDM and voice mail even if I just dump ny demo kit.

Now, I have the Panasonic IP sets, the NEC-DSX VoIP solution, and the Icon pure IP solution for 90% of my customer base. It doesn't mean I'll keep it, nor does it mean I'll stop looking. I still want to see the Ipitomy, but more important, I want to see more customers in the rust belt.

Tecom has been around for quite some time and has OEM lots of brand names. Their products IMHO, has always claimed to do more than what they could do. Tecom is also the most bug ridding product I have ever encountered in 30 years of being in this industry.
I don't like Tecom, just my opinion. IMHO, the grief and bugs I have dealt with their products on the TDM side, forget about dealing with that on the IP side.

Carl,
You want margin on the IP side, you want stable hardware, Xorcom is the product. Tech support is weak, very weak, you need to learn this product on your own, but the good thing is it is inexpensive, solid and you have no license fees.

If you want an Ipitomy system, I have one I evaluated, will give it to you for nickels on the dollar.

Whoops. Thanks Walter, but let's take this back to Installers. I have some things to discuss and I'll probably call you on Wednesday, but I want to continue this thread in the private forum where the search engine can't find us.

Walter, that isn't always true. The X16 was very good first pass by Tecom. Unusual but they can do it right.
