I talked to X-Blue about using a customer's existing SIP phones. They told me the standard " we can't be responsible if phones don't work correctly"... Understandable.

I believe they are T-com(SP?)phones. It seems that they are pretty much the "any-mans" VoIP telephone case. Same one that Vertical used on the Xcelerator, and Tadiran used/uses for the T series. But I agree, the Tadiran ones were pretty good, so likely these are too.

Anyone yet deploy this system?????????

It does now have voice mail (local on the phone) indication.

Any other quirks ???

Gonna buy one this week and do a full blown test in the office. If anyone has one and have it installed in there office please contact me. I would like to have us link the systems together so we can test how that works.
Gonna get a SIP trunk from X-Blue, anyone done that yet?

Reading the manual tonight and making notes, may have some more questions soon.

I am not a T-com fan as mentioned before, but with that said I was huge Sprint Protege Fan (T-Com product)

Thanks
Walter

Win communications came in to our office and demo'd their newest product, which is exactly this unit. We mentioned that, and they said Xblue is ripping them off. When you call Xblue and ask they admit that someone else is making it and they are rebranding it. Just another way Win is not being sold by us anymore...

They also told us that this is a cheaper Avaya IP Office, just because they can do twinning....haha

I think that "ripping them off" is a pretty exaggerated statement by them. It is very well known that this and many other products that are sold by many other big names are all made by the same manufacturer.

ICON (formerly Iwatsu) is selling their identical version, as they did with the 924 system that was marketed by XBlue as the 45P.

Vertical/Vodavi and others marketed an earlier version of this system, though with fewer capacities.

The Comdial DX-80 and 120 were made by the same manufacturer. So was Vodavi's DHS.

There's nothing sinister or shady about it. A factory (TComm) is making a product that is made available for any distribution channel in the world to market. Frankly, I think that they have a great concept.

yeah, I just found it crazy that WIN had their own product line and dumped it all and is now going with this as their product line...

Have read entire list of posts. Have searched the internet. From what I can see, the X50 only takes analog lines. Does it really not take a T1 line?? If not what system should I look at?

Let me also apologize. I am not a Telecom specialist, clearly, or I would not have asked such an elementary question. But I am trying to buy a phone system that is self install. And I need help.

X50 takes traditional analog trunks and SIP trunks via internet based carriers. Unless you're network and IP proficient this would be difficult to install and self administer. Why not take a few bids from local providers and compare features to see what fits your needs?
