We have had both limited success and painful experiences with the SBX DECT phones. We have a customer with three DECT phones, and one of the phones keeps experiencing chronic satatic. We have frogged the handsets and the base, with no success. Has anbyone had any luck troubleshooting DECT phone issues?

Hi, we are also experiencing this chronic static noise on all the DECT phones installed. Vertical tech support have asked me to test the phones in another system on a different location. Are the base advisable to be side-by-side in a closet.
There's a limitation on where I can install the base units as implementation is on a warehouse office not to mention the limited availability of the in-house wiring as the contractor cuts almost all the in-house cabling.
Need help. Thanks. sonny88

By the way, our client got 4 DECT phones in all and 3 24-button phones.
Thanks. sonny88

I installed three on an STSe system next to each other. I experienced multiple problems. Separated the bases by 25 ft. That seem to do the trick. In for 1.5 years. Haven't had a problem. Hope that helps.

My DECT phone experience is only with single phones so I think Ted is on to something. An Engenius install I did once with multiple bases caused a serious noise issue and reduced range until I separated them.

Thanks Ted and Dave...although I am not sure yet on how I can separate the base's as we have very limited in-house cabling that work.
By the way, I am still to test the 2 DECT phones I pulled-out yesterday. The status of the 2 phones left at our client: the DECT phone where the base is in the closet together with the KSU is still making that noise and the DECT user can't hear me when I tried calling. The other DECT phone where the base is installed afar from the KSU is working fine.
Again, not sure if having the DECT base next to the KSU is a good idea.
I will let you know the result of testing the 2 other DECT phones here in our office.
Thanks again. sonnny

The 2 DECT phones works perfectly fine here in our office...although everything works fine with our initial client install until after about one month were they noticed the noise and becomes louder until they can't barely understand the other party.
I will see on how I can separate the base units. Thanks. sonny

I have separated all the 3 base stations away from each other...and the problem persists after approximately 1 week after resetting the base and the cordless phone by removing its battery.
I haven't returned the 4th dect phone for isolation purposes.
I just tried unplugging the whole KSU including all the base stations and took-out all the batteries of all the 3 dect phones last night and will see from here.
Need help. Thanks. sonny

Have had similar problems. Comes down to they're cheap (certainly not in price), and your success with them is hit or miss IMO. The older ones we have work pretty good, new ones we get are probably 50/50. I don't like the V10k or the DX series cordless' either and I get tired of customers saying well I have this phone I bought from wal-mart and it works from here to there with no issue. It's embarrassing and they're correct. If only the wal-mart ones could have line appearance .
