Hi guys,

I am having a problem with my 320 system. Only one phone is ringing when receiving a phone call, and if you are on the phone its not being acknowledge either. Before all phones in the business did. Something has changed in the system and I don't know what it could be. (Im a Cisco guy not a PBX Phone Installer) So if you could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Well, either someone changed the ring mode...which is an attendant function or the system has lost programming, most likely to a dip switch in the wrong position, caused by a power outage. If the second happened the system will drop names and lots of other things as well.

For the DIP switch in the wrong position can it automatically switch in a power outage? Where can the Ring mode be found at also. I have the manual but its a little hard to understand.

Thank you again

The dip switch is a physical switch and the settings are found in the installation documents. The technican that installed the system should have set them. They are SW2 (batteryswitch) and SW1 switch 4. If they are not set proper the system will lose porograming if power is lost. You will need the installation and programing information if that is your issue, however your system could be in a different ring mode... night weekend ect.

Check if the DND/FWD button on Ext 100 is flashing or says Night/Lunch/On Demand/Auto Ring in the display. Day mode does not display anything on the LCD, just the station name.

If flashing, press the DND button, dial 1, then Hold/Save. Test the ringing after.

On the phone it says

MSG: VMIB (5) (0) (0)

The call back button is flashing red as is the led on top of it. That for station 100.

Sounds normal, just a notification that you have voicemail on that extension.

Is it extension 100 that is ringing for all incoming calls? If so, then Derrick is correct, the system has lost its programming. It will require the installer to hopefully restore a backed up database, or to reprogram it from scratch.

They should be instructed to check the DIP switches and the battery switch as Derrick said. If they are set correctly, the battery may have died and would not have retained the programming during a power outage.

There isnt a VM installed on the system. The installer that did it isnt here and i know he had a hell of a time programming it said took him 16 hours to get it up and going. So im sure there is no backup of the db somewhere. Extension 100-106 rings when a call comes in and only 100 does. Wish there was a tutorial to set up the Verital System. I set up a Fortinet System and that was rather easy. This one is to complex with all the jargon.
