Our company doesn't have a secretary at the front desk due to cutbacks, and we would like to change the system so that the Auto Attendant answers immediately instead of answering after a few rings. I checked the manual and I thought I needed to change the port settings of the TVP200 so that the Delayed Answer Time = 0, so I followed the instructions on the two pages liked below: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/117180/Panasonic-Kx-Tvp200.html?page=124#manualhttps://www.manualslib.com/manual/117180/Panasonic-Kx-Tvp200.html?page=125#manualThis requires connecting to the Serial port of the TVP200, which I did. But when I tried to change the Delayed Answer Time, all the ports already had a Delayed Answer Time of 0 for day and night modes. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Someone needs to go into Phone System programming and set lines to DIL to TVM pilot number.

Thanks for your answer, but I'm not sure what you mean. What's a TVM pilot number? I can't find "TVM" or "pilot number" in any of the manuals or on the internet. We have a KX-TVP200 voice processing system and a KX-TD1232 PBX. Here are the manuals: https://copy.com/evOttc1KjHnNYs1L(I'll leave these here for a few months.)

The number you dial to access Voice Mail. Default would be 165.

You mean I need to change the number in the PBX that it uses to access the voice mail unit?

No, what system is the TVP connected to? Whatever it is, it needs to be programmed to ring the VM port(s). In a TD, it's DIL 1 to N or IRNA and VM programmed and attached to the system uses ext 165 as the first group of VM ports. Consult the SYSTEM PROGRAMMING (PM) manual for the specific phone system.

The system is already set up and the voice mail system answers after a few rings. I just want it to answer after 0 rings. Since the voice mail system answers after a few rings, it must already be set up to 165, no? KXTD1232 Programming Manual TVP200 Installation Manual

Well, what happens if you dial 165? If the VM answers on the first ring, you better start looking at the timers on the phone system, if not, then the timers in the VM.

If you dial 165 from any extension, the voice mail system answers immediately.
Someone from the company that installed it mentioned something about changing the timer of the voice mail system (TVP200), but I thought that was the Delayed Answer Time.
How do you change the timer of the voice mail system?

Go into phone system program and DIL all line 1 to 1 to 165.
Call a tech if you don't know how to program the phone switch or read manual.
