I have an IWATSU IX-expmm connected to an IX-CME via HWY a card. The system is then connected to a simplex 5100 paging system. I am wondering if either system has an internal music player of some sort? I want to change the source of the music to a local radio station. Right now the MOH is just playing some classical music of some sort. I am nearly 99.9% sure that there is no external music player so where is the music coming from? If it is external which system would it be plugged into and where would it be? LOL I have the IWATSU Icon programmer for the IX CME. Thanks for your help in locating the source of the music.

The ECS does have an internal MOH source, but it's electronic and very easily detected as less than CD quality music. There are several tunes available, though a couple are variations of Pachelbel's Canon (I HATE Pachelbel's Canon) or modern Japanese pop music.
Most paging systems have connections for radio tuners and other audio sources, so the paging system is the likely culprit if the music is playing overhead. If it's strictly on hold music, it connects to the ECS. There are a couple of physical connections for an audio source in the ECS, most notably a 6 conductor jack on the CCU card.
Simply connecting a local radio station to your phone system is not legal to do. There are site licenses involved with ASCAP and maybe the FCC. Classical music is used a lot of the time because most of it is in the public domain, so no one is owed royalties every time someone gets put on hold.

Thank you! do i have access to turn the music off in the ICON Iwatsu Programmer? I think silence would be better than what is playing now. Also, are you saying that the music source is internal on the IWATSU phone server? Thank you

Using the programmer, go to System>system features and set the MOH to external to turn off the internal source. Or, check the CCU card for what looks like a regular line cord connection and disconnect it.
