Our client has a v5.0 Mitel 5000. Their PRI is from Century Link/ Sprint. They want to run 2 companies off the system with seperate MOH. They have the 5 MP3 license. Is the best way to accomplish this is using a Call Routing Table? Thanks.

Assign a different DID for each company as their main number. Change the Music-on-Hold and Audio settings on the CO Trunk Group to 'Use Next Devices Audio Source'. Once the call reaches it's intended destination, you can pick and choose the MOH that company wants their client to hear.

The Call Routing Table and Music on Hold are the easy parts.
The 5000 isn’t really designed as a tenant system, but it will work with careful planning. Calling Party Number, attendant stations, night mode, etc. is where the fun starts. It’s possible to have Caller ID show the wrong number, stations recall to the wrong destination and so on.
Caller ID name may be an issue. Can the carrier deliver different names off the same PRI?
Chances are you can make it work. I’ve got several systems with multiple companies – the most complicated being six doctors’ offices on one PRI. Each has different operating hours, their own auto attendant, ACD, page zones and answering service phantom.

For outbound calls should I request Century Link to show the number only?

First, you need to confirm that they support Calling Party Number, where the PBX supplies the outgoing phone number. Not all circuits can support that, and the carrier provides one number for all outbound calls.
Ask the question about names. If you have to, see if they can show only the number. There’s no one-size-fits-all here. Explore all the options and go with the best one.
