Hi All,

Aaron here, yes i am a Samsung Tech, although i am still a little green.

I have this dilemma...

I have installed a Samsung DCS70 "Australia" i need to setup two doors on door lock/unlock function.

I have setup a DPIM to a door phone and this works fine.

My question is this.

Does the DPIM have an internal relay, if so it seems mine is set to normally closed.

If not what should i do to connect this to a door?

Secondly can you use the general purpose relay's on the main equipment?

Or the normall closed contacts on the main equipment.

This did my head in onsite today.

Please help, my senior techs haven't done this for ages either.

I can call our Samsung help desk but they can be a little blunt.

I hope you can help...

Aaron
Welcome Aaron,

The door phone does have an internal relay. The back of the Doorphone Interface Module (DPIM) has a port labeled lock. Connect pings 1 & 6 to the lock.

Send me a PM if you need more information.

The contact on the dpim is a dry contact, so if the door requires anything other then a short to open (ie voltage) you will need to hook up a external relay and power pack.

Also FYI, the DCS70 is known as a Compact II elsewhere in the world
Use the DPIM to drive a relay that can drive you door lock, it is only a dry contact and should be N/O so use a 12volt power pack and cheap relay, so you have no issues with your door locks and you will also comply with ACA (extra low voltage) connection to the phone system
