I know this is a basic question, please be kind I'm new to the telephone side of things. My background is on the data side of things...
I have six users with IP sets (5220 / 5240) on our ICP3300. They are moving out of the building and would like to have VM set to play a "we have moved" info message to callers for 6 months after their departure.
My problem: I changed the call routing to send all calls directly to VM and all works as I want it to. Then when I unplug the phones the extensions go "out of service" with a rapid reorder tone.
My question: How do I set this up so the extensions stay in service but don't have a real phone associated to them? Is there a Null or phantom type of device I can choose? or am I going about it all wrong?
Thanks, Adam
