I've looked all over the forums for the answer to this question without finding it, so apologies if this has been asked before.

Instead of pressing intercom, dialing 710# or 714# to turn DND on/off, can the 7736/7731 be set to go DND just by pressing the DND button? Right now the DND button does nothing. I've looked through the manuals and the programming GUI, but nothing is popping out. If I set DND on 2.2 Feature Settings, then the DND light stays on and can't be turned off with the button.

The bottom line is this: I want to be able to turn DND on and off with one button press...can I do it and how?

Thanks.
Chris

I don't have my manuals in front of me, but IF you do the dialed DND, then the button works. Don't have an 824 in front of me to test it but that is how I remember it.

Do you have the button set as Call Forward? Like to VM?

Well, if I do the dialed DND the light lights up on that button, but the button does not actually work.

I don't have the button set to anything, because if I set it to DND on 2.2 then it's just on and you can't turn it off.

I don't have it set to FWD to anywhere because we're using carrier based VM.

I'm using one PT in a studio where we want to shut the phone up, but have a visual that this has been done...that's what I thought DND was for. (and how it worked on a Toshiba phone system at a studio I used to work for)

Just for your sanity, it works on the TAW-848 amd the TDA family :-)

Panasonic may have fixed that in later software but probably not. I guess you'll have to sacrifice two PF buttons.

Heh, figures. Though I have this feeling that I'm overlooking something simple. I'm new to programming these, so there's much to discover.

What do you mean by sacrificing two PFs? I do have plenty of open PFs, so it's probably not an issue for me.

Thanks!

Audioguy, there is no toggle feature with the DND for the TA624 and 824.
The KX-TD digtal series did have this and it's also on the TAW & TDA as Carl pointed out.
I have done a few studios and usually put 2 extensions in the control room, (or more)
1 is an analog to a flasher and the other are pits phones with the ringer turned off at the set.
Intercom calls will not flash the light unless you forward all calls to light extension but they will flash the intercom LED if not forwarded.

It sucks for a couple of reasons, but you take PF 12 and PF 11 and label them DND ON DND OFF
Press Program and PF12 and dial 714# store and PF11 and 710# store.

The sucky part is you still have to press Intercom or SP PHONE and the PF button to make it work.
