I need to add battery backup to a Dk40i (this summer in DC has brought lots of power outages). It's going to go in an office environment, so a sealed unit is preferable. I did a quick google and found this site: ABS Can anyone recommend another supplier? Also, has anyone used ABS and recommend them? Thanks is advance,

When I did alot of Toshiba DK installs we used the Express BBU (that what the twa link is for) but we sold them for for half that price. Here's a link that has better prices, not that I have purchased from this company. https://www.coloradotelephone.com/install.htm#power

The Express Power Packs are made in Florida. That is an expensive way to ship lead. You get two 12 volt 7 amp hour batteries in an aluminum case pop-riveted shut. Their phone number is 800-278-1748, can't find the web site for you. TWACOMM is usually at the top of the heap on google and is retail plus a BUNCH.

If they don't have to be in a case, you get two 12 volt, 7 amp hour alarm batteries or two 12 volt, 33 amp hour wheel chair/trolling motor/gel cell batteries and a PPTC-3m cable.

The alarm or wheelchair batteries are gel cell type batteries that do not outgas. You can find the larger cells at battery distributors like Interstate. The smaller ones you usually find at electronics stores.

I pay $55 for each of the 33 amp batteries and $14 for the 7 amp hour batteries. I bought up a bunch of the PPTC-3Ms and I can't tell the price on that Toshiba part but its not huge.
