Beginning yesterday morning, my "1" key on all phones started to emit a bizarre tone unlike the other keys. It's happening on all phones and all lines. Consequently, we can't dial any number - long distance or local - that has a "1" in it. Anyone have any ideas?

Not too familiar with the Emerald system..But have you tried resetting the system? Turning the power off...let it sit for approx 15 min. the plug it back in. That will take care of any false data that might have gotten in there from a power bump/spike.
If that doesn't do it..I'd have a tech come in and shoot the problem.
