Your article says it all....Sprint spun them off...HQ is at 5454 W. 110 St.
Sprint was started as a LD spin off then took over it's parent in name only....United Tel. HQ located at Westwood...Shawnee Mission Parkway and Rainbow.
Sprint lost it's ....with the 3G thing (fancy VoIP)and the wireless thing.
Another lost company just like GTE....

Oh.
I was thinking something like it started as United, bought by GTE, GTE became Sprint.... etc.
For some reason I thought there was more of a history there.
I guess I"m just getting old. The one nice thing about that is I can no longer remember the things I've forgotten. Or, more simply put, I've reached the point in my life where I've forgotten more than I know.
