Have a very strange problem with fms voicemail:

First, it doesn't boot.

Second it destroys the dos partition on the flash card immediatelly, so when I access it in cf reader it's shown as unformatted.

I can restore the card and when I use it in another fms board it works fine.

As soon as it's inserted in this fms board, it's being destroyed.

Anyone have seen this problem? Is there a way to access BIOS and maybe reset the CMOS?

Any help is appreciated.

I haven't come across that one before and I don't know how to get into the bios of these things

But down in this part of the world if it is the main board it is usually cheaper to get a new board rather than get NEC to repair it.

Paul,
Thanks for the reply.

I suspected that's the board is a gonner.

Althrough it showes some signs of life when it sees a proper card(original). It goes through booting about half way and just dies. Card is corrupted and no boot after that.
I'll play with that and see what can be done...

P.S. Does anyone know what kind of security is used on these. I think I found the key, but want to confirm before I reinvent the bicycle

NEC uses a propriatery flash card that has a hidden code that can only be read by the OS on the VM board.

Well,
The card is regular flash. The S/W is proprietary.
The s/w is linked to the serial number of the card.
I'll see what I can do about this :-)
