We currently have 5 sites on this system. Site A is the main site. Sites B and C are remote switches using NetLink. Site D and E are IP phones off of the main switch. There are 3 IP phones at site D and 3 at site E.
The IP phones at sites D and E seem to go down when we have an issue with the T1 and/or network between the main site and sites D and/or E. The phone lose connection but when the network comes back up the phones never reestablish a connection to site A. All 3 phones at the site in trouble go down. The only way to get them back up is to reset the switch at site A or staticly change the IP address of each phone. Once you change the ip address of a phone you cannot reuse that ip address until you reset the phone switch at site A.
Site B and C are connected with Netlink. We are using a MPLS T1 to connect sites A, B and C. We have seen network issues between these sites but we have had problems with the phone switches at B and C and not see an issue on the network. Sometimes the phones switches at B and C will quit communicating. When you log into site A you can see the Primary switch Connected and sites B and C show disconnected. When you try to make a call from site to site you hear reorder. Other times when you log into site A and sites A, B and C show connected. When they show connected you can call from site to site and the phones will ring. If no one answers the call goes to voice mail. The voice mail is on site A. If someone tries to answer you hear reorder on both ends and the display shows “Hang Up”. The only way to clear this problem is to reset the 2 remotes, site B first then site C or reset the main switch at site A.
