I wouldn't think the CPU battery would need replacing.
To tryout NTP:
10-12-xx make sure you have a valid ip/gateway
90-11-11 make sure you have a valid DNS
90-56-01 turn on NTP
90-56-02 (try 208.66.175.36) input an internet NTP site.
