Can somebody tell me what a flashing CAP key means on a SV8100. For the life of me I can't find it anywhere in the User Guides.

If you have CAP keys and no line appearance the CAP key will flash when the call is put on hold.

What happens if you pick up the handset and push the flashing key?
Also, as Dans mentioned, does the phone in question have a line appearance? How are the other buttons programmed?

Have you confirmed that the phone all have unique CAP keys?

This was an issue on older software.
make sure your pbx is 5.01 or higher.

All CAP keys are unique. 6.02 software. CAP key on Ext.102 flashing green. Press button to pick up call, can't access, busy tone. C.O.-1 was hung up. Removed crossconnect to try to get the line to release with no success. Finally reseated the trunk card to cure problem. NTAC can't explain why it happened. Never saw that before.
