When I come across copper, built-up insulation debri in the 66 block pin, use a small flathead to spread the pins, & then with my other hand use the afore-mentioned "spudger", "probe pick", to get it out. Sometimes you need to "squeeze" the pins back. A pair of long-nose pliers or placing your punch tool over the pin, then gently rocking it from side to side will restore the gap.

The only place I can find one of the above is at Graybar. Never used the one that comes with punch tools these days...just not as good a tool as the above!
