just logged out of their system. I am now able to ping an outside IP from both site a and the main site. I changed the DNS to 10.1.1.250 and 12.127.17.71 on the main site router and I can ping a web address.
site a still has problems pinging a domain name though. I've tried several different dns settings without success.
