Got a customer who was proposed an outdoor-rated AP solution. I am to compete with "the other guy's" bid.
From what I've gleaned, there are exactly TWO things that the customer truly wants: good wireless coverage and hardware that's as invisible as possible.
In my view, putting a weatherproof unit outdoors is stupid. Why make a box visible (even if it's faux painted) when it could be just on the other side of a warehouse wall? My thinking is that I mount an omni-directional stick in an inconspicuous area that still offers effective coverage.
Knowing MY take on the project, the fact that there are two buildings involved (perhaps 100 feet apart) and that the app is to have roaming iPads continue to have unbroken coverage from building to building...what might YOU recommend?
