I have a customer w/100 system that every month or so will lock up. Phones show ver# on displays and have to shut system off and on to reset. I have replaced the whole system except vmail card and still happens! Customer has phones in garage across street with underground cable feed. Garage has heavy equipent, welding etc. Customer says seems to happen when call rings into system.
Anybody seen this before?

What about the VM card?
That's the only thing left.

I have had that issue before. Turned out to be a vm card that died and screwed up the DB, keeps the processor looking for the card.

If it is not the VoiceMail card. Keep looking at the power being the source. The electrician setup an dedicated circuit, did it include an dedicated ground? I did have a customer that also used arc welders. I mention that may cause a problem and it did. I had to prove it to him. It so happen he got the place next door. I ran an extension cord to an outlet next door. He stop calling about the problem (separated power panels). Surges can travel down any one of electrical wires even ground. Best of Luck!

The welding is done in a seperate building across street so there is no interference through electrical. Maybe interference through 25 pair feed? As far as vmail card goes, it never died and is running fine. Maybe I should replace anyway? Another point: When system had mem3 card and locked up, a reset would default programming. Since replacing w/SMCP card system locks up but doesn't default when reset.
