Hi Marc (and others...) I was using the gmail as an example, and in thinking about it, it would be a good idea. I jsut tried in the Dungeon (my work areas nickname) but I get back a response that the login is not supported, so I guess unfortunately it was a bad example to give!

A better example would have been using an externally hosted exchange server on port 465, I have done this before with no problems.
