My two cents...
Axis is the "go to" cam for IP stuff.. open architecture, too... sty away from anything proprietary ... at least IMNSHO
But be careful..... unless you have the budget for the higher end IP cams... go with analog and use a networkable DVR, encoder, or some other way to serve up that video signal (local loop viewing, recording, and web viewing being three different things)
If your boss is making the decision based on stuff from the sales rep ... you're stuck no matter what.... at least in my experience... this is what happens when "pointy haired boss" makes the decisions best left to techs and engineers.
Just my two cents -- YMMV, etc. etc.
