Samsung digital customer bought a new Polycom and used their system to put together a multiline conference and then transfer the call to the Polycom.

The call would not transfer correctly.

The Samsung sends out square ringing and the Polycom insists on seeing sine wave ringing.

As obtuse as the solution sounds, I installed a duplex jack and added a cheap single line phone.

The multi-conference Samsung call is transferred to and answered by the single line phone and the Samsung phone is hung up.

The talk button is pushed on the Polycom and the single line phone hung up.

As klutzy as it sounds you are defeating the square wave problem by answering on the single line phone, joining in the Polycom and disconnecting the single line phone.

Silly maybe but it works and you can't do it any other way because Polycom won't accept a square wave ring.
