Sure, you can use 1A2 (or any analog common battery telephone) on PC-based Asterisk. You need to create an extension list, then send them to a Digium (or clone) T1 card in the PC. Then a T1 span (data patch cord wired for T1) to a channel bank. You can then derive up to 24 analog lines that can be in your dial plan, and can home into the line cards of the 1A2 system.

Adtran 750 and 850 channel banks with FSX cards are plentiful and cheap on the auction places. I bought a new-in-box 750 equipped with 24 FXS ports for one cent plus the cost of shipping.
