The company I work for has been approached as a sub-contractor to install Verizon 4G access points in residences. I was writing to see if anyone on this forum has had experience with these and how the experience has been.
Thank you ~ Mike

if its the Network extender here I just returned one , when it worked it was GREAT !!! but it wouldn't stay up consistently. I spent probably 10 hours on the phone with Verizon support , was bumped to higher support levels until the last tech said it may have been my two year old phones weren't compatible. it did seem to work consistently with the new Galaxy 4s if there looking for you to do them on a flat rate basis I Would watch out , it took me maybe three hours and a call to tech support to get it working If its a another product I would be interested in hearing about it as we have poor cell service here I've been looking at Wilson electronics product but I was trying to find a cheaper soultion I returned it for a full refund .

@ Skip - I can't divulge too much since we did get some confidential docs but I can say it is not that product. The antenna looks like a coffee can and will mount outside the house. Utilizes the Verizon 4G network. Connects to a Verizon provided wireless router inside via RG6 coax. This means we also need to be cognizant of grounding, penetration through the house, etc...

this product maybe ? BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Verizon Wireless today introduced HomeFusion Broadband: a new service that provides high-speed in-home Internet access using the power and speed of the nation’s largest 4G LTE network. The solution will offer households in areas with limited broadband options a reliable alternative for data connectivity in their homes.
“HomeFusion Broadband is just one of the new products and services that is made possible with our 4G LTE network,†said Tami Erwin, vice president and chief marketing officer, Verizon Wireless. “Customers want to connect more and more devices in their homes to the Internet, and HomeFusion Broadband gives them a simple, fast and effective way to bring the most advanced wireless connection from Verizon into their homes.â€
The 4G LTE network is efficiently delivered to an antenna which transmits the signal to a broadband router inside the home. The cylinder-shaped antenna is professionally installed at the customer’s home, and the product’s innovative design includes multiple internal antennae allowing the device to pick up Verizon’s 4G LTE signal. The broadband router can connect up to four wired and at least 20 wireless devices inside the home using Wi-Fi, including everything from computers to gaming consoles.
HomeFusion Broadband will be available beginning later this month in Birmingham, Ala., Dallas and Nashville, Tenn., with additional markets to follow. Verizon Wireless is working with Asurion, a trusted leader in consumer technology protection services, for installation.
Customers can choose several usage-based plans, beginning at $59.99 monthly access for 10 GB of data, specifically designed for HomeFusion Broadband. A one-time equipment fee of $199.99 applies, and installation is free.

@ Skip - This is the name of the product. The company I work for has been approached to install these as a sub. Just wondering if anyone has had first hand experience with these.

I've not disassembled the device but from what I've been told its an onmidirectional antenna.
Given this is aimed towards people who otherwise couldn't get broadband, an omni seems a bit odd since they typically will also be on the edge of getting service without a directional antenna.
Be sure that the SOW is iron-clad in that you don't have to deal with CPE equipment, once you make an exception, everyone will expect you to get each and every non-compatible device working perfectly.

And they wonder why customers complain about botched installs when they pay some jackleg $100 bucks a shot and he's expected to do 8 installs a day for his boss...probably making $12 an hour.

This is the way cable and satellite independent contractor installer deals work so they are doing the same thing. The only way to make money is to get as many jobs completed as possible per day so quality and workmanship isn't even a consideration, speed is. The only factor that mitigates a total crap install is that if there are problems with it not working or there are "justifiable" customer complaints the company does backcharge the installer and some companies will use any excuse not to pay the installer.
About all I can say is that it's a lousy business to get involved with, not unlike working for nationals. But unfortunately there are many people out there who are so desperate for work that they will have many takers.
