I'm guessing you mean the VTX-1000. We have one in a conference room about 20 x 30 feet and it works well with the external mics. The room has a wall that opens to a second room, so the space grows to 20 x 50.

With both rooms open, I connect the VTX-1000 to the PA system. Calls are heard on the overhead speakers and we use wireless mics for presenters. With the Polycom in the center of the room, most of the room is covered, but not completely.

We hold a lot of board meetings where guest speakers give presentations. Using a conference bridge, this setup is a quick and dirty way to allow two-way audio participation between local and remote attendees.
