Has anyone had any luck getting session manager for the Axxess to work on vista OS. I had a customer that want session manager for an axxess 9 on a vista OS machine. Installation would never get to the point to say where to put the folder for the program.

I know it was a good copy, because I was able to install it on my laptop running 2000 OS.

If you got it to work, HOW?

Also, will the same thing happen when you try to use the session manager for the 5k?

I've never seen it work on Vista and have heard of nothing but failed attempts.

Axxess 9.123+ is Vista compatible.

5000 compatibility is a bit different.
In 1.2 you need to use 1.2.8.207.
In 2.2 you need to use 2.2.1.20.
In 2.3 you need to use 2.3.6.29.
All releases after 2.3 are Vista compatible.

You can can get DB programming loaded on Vista for older versions but the reports and help files will probably be broken. Permissions and UAC/UAP in Vista are drastically different from the way 2000 & XP handled things. In Vista there is a difference between having admin rights and being the administrator. Disabling UAC/UAP might help.
