They are not polarity sensitive. If they were, a reversed pair would foul things up.
The long pins get connected to the OSP. The short pins get connected to the subscriber equipment. The middle pin is ground. If you wire the BET correctly, the modules will be facing the correct direction. The ground pin is off-set to prevent the module from being inserted incorrectly. Most BET's have a wiring diagram that indicates which cable goes where, Some have a cable tail. Those are easy to figure out. The tail gets spliced to the OSP.
