That's why every time I install a system that uses POTS lines, I call 911 from the main line, clearly state that it is NOT an emergency, and then confirm with the operator the address and number. Once confirmed, I make sure it's OK to test the rest of the lines, and do so accordingly. I've not had any of the 911 operators deny me the testes, yet.
