Let me first start by thanking all of you who spend time helping people. I just had the hard drive in my AXXESSORY VM server die and after getting the unit refurbished I was tasked with reconfiguring everything. Searching this forum filled in the gaps and enabled me to rebuild all the voice mail boxes, fix some call forwarding issues to VM, and setup call routing announcements with recordings.

I need to know if the MSG Button is only used as an indicator that a message/callback is waiting. My boss is convinced that when the MSG light is off he could push the button and it would take him to his voicemail. :bang:

I know feature code 365 is assigned to the MSG button and calling voice mail is not what it does.
Can someone just post here and let me know for sure its not possible.

Welcome to the board

If you reprogram his key to be a DSS/BLF with the ext of the message notification and retrieval application you have built on your voice mail it will do what he says. A message key has 2 purposes 1st is to let you know you have a voice mail message the 2nd can be to let you know you have a message not a voice mail but a message to return the call to the extension that called you and did not get answered.
