My customer has a Partner Acs R4 with 2 expansion cards 1 R3.1 and 1 R1.1 308 cards with a Partner Mail VS. The problem is the fuse in the 5 slot carrier keeps blowing. I have replaced the processor with no change. I have replaced the carrier no change. System is ok with processor and 1 308 expansion card, but when I insert the 2nd 308 card the fuse will blow.It does not matter which card is in the first or second expansion slot the fuse will blow. Any thoughts?

You may also want to directly plug the power cord into each mod individulay and usually the bad mod will pop/crack and fill the room with smoke........

A carrier with a fuse(?) or circuit breaker, is very, very, old. Did you try a newer one? If a new 308 Mod doesn't fix your problem, you should upgrade to an IP office, R.8. User friendly, easy to program.. Sarcasm.

How about looking at the outlet it is plugged into. Is there to much current?

All carriers have a fuse - the really old ones with the push/pull switch is actually a circuit breaker.
Since you have narrowed it down to which 308, when added to the carrier pops the carrier's fuse, you know which one to replace.
And the ACS draws current from the outlet, it is not pushed out of the outlet - if the ACS draws too much current, the house circuit breaker for the outlet will trip.

Just do as Mike says. Pull all the mods and use the power cord to power them one by one directly. The offender will go up in smoke.
If you just swap out the mods in the carrier you will be replacing that fuse in that PITA location each time until you find the bad mod. And you know it will always be the last one you try.

And you know it will always be the last one you try. "I can't find my keys" "They'll probably be in the last place you look" "Of course, who keeps looking after they've found them!" :toothy:
