I have a hotel with an SX 200 that is having issues with guests calling other rooms or local calls, and getting other rooms, or the wrong person on outside calls. Even when they call the desk for them to transfer them to another room, the transfer rings back to the desk. Could this be a DTMF Receiver going bad? This problem comes on the heels of them changing T1 carriers for their in-room Internet connectivity.

Any help would be appreciated!

Mike

No matter which 200 you have the problem is most likely a DTMF receiver. If you log into maintenance, you can watch receiver you're using, when and if the call you're placing fails.
Otherwise, you can busy out the receivers, one or more at a time, to help to narrow down which one is actually failing.

1.-Even when they call the desk for them to transfer them to another room, the transfer rings back to the desk.

2.-This problem comes on the heels of them changing T1 carriers for their in-room Internet connectivity.

1.- When it rings back to the desk does it come back to and LDN key or does it come back on the answer key. I am questioning if it is a recall or an Illegal number routing.

2.- This new T-1 is it on a Channel bank or a CSU/DSU. I have seen channel banks cause all kinds of problems on traffic. also a short in the system can cause the MCC to inturpret shorts as DTMF tones usually in low number I.E. 1234,1120,110. you may see intense amount of calls to these low numbered rooms usually phantom calls.

And did you do the cut on the circuit.

I agree with 55 this is probably a DTMF reciever issue, But these are things that pop into my head with the description of the problem.
I hope it helps

Wet junctions will also cause misdials. The system reads make/break due to intermittent shorting as a pulse dial -- especially if the problem centers around room 11, 111, or 1111.
