I do not know the sx50 . But it should be in cos assignments somewhere . It has to be enabled in the Trunk COS and the Station COS .It is a no/yes option . There is probably a SMDR Options form somewhere . smile

oh so you are saying that if it not enabled that may be a possible cause why i was not recieving any info.

but at the sametime the hyper terminal was getting information is it safe to assume that it was enabled since hyper terminal was recieving information from the port but my program was not picking up anything from the port,

do u think the baud rates, parity, databits or stop bits may have anything to do with it???

I asked one of our techs that use to work for MTS . He stated the printer port might have stopped . So from the sx50 console dial *75# . He has said to make sure Command 100,register14,bitI should be a 1 not a 0 . The default baud is 1200 , 8 , none , 1 . You can check it in command 100 register 16 . smile

I am not physically at the the smdr at the moment so when i get there the only thing i need to check is that
1. those are the defaults that u mentioned are set to thosee values you mentioned

2. and check that the printer port was restarted???

Command 100 register 14 bit 1 should be set for "2" for smdr on outgoing trunks. Command 100 register 16 should read 16040810, which is 1200 baud, no parity, 8 transmit bits, 1 stop bit.
