Hey,Fifty5footer,
As much as I can remember -8 volts used only for Misc.card to feed RS-232 Interface. I've done a lots of Mitel but I never seen SS4 doing rendom dialing out because it has to dial 9 first. maybe it is a LNR issue with Auto Redial Feature???

When the power starts to go on the rear door supplies, the Superset 4's will react (for some reason) as if someone pressed the "Redial" Key.
We've tweaked and then shipped quite a few of them over the past 20 years!
