Greetings, I'm looking for a small key system that will provide a particular function. Customer wants to front all calls with full-time AA. If caller dials zero, wants a group of phones to simlutaneously ring. Further, wants each user to be able to remove themselves from the ringing group (via button press or dial code) - yet be able to receive other calls (so std DND generally won't work). Further, in perfect world, unanswered calls would either queue or go to a secondary auto attend, allowing callers the ability to wait or leave a message. Most basic ACDs will do all except the simultaneous ring... System can top out at 8 CO lines and 24 stations. As is often the case, customer has Definity tastes with Nitsuko budget... Regards, Mike

Proudly serving Canada from coast to coast.
It can be done using the Vodavi STS which should be able to satisfy a beer budget using the call coverage button. There would be several button strokes to log in and out of the ringing group, not just a simple button press though.
Ed - STS is the product that I originally had in mind - but couldn't find a graceful way to meet this requirement. Sound like you're suggesting that the user would program then unprogram a call coverage button to turn ringing "on" and "off". I don't think that you can cover a hunt group, so callers would be sent to an analog station - which is then covered by a "ringing coverage" button. Does that sound right? Mike
Well, yes that's actually exactly what I was thinking about suggesting. It's kind of klunky, but for a system in that price range, it might be worth the extra strokes. The calls would just be transferred to one of the analog ports and all people who wanted to cover the calls would activate a call coverage button. If they want out, they just deactivate it. It might work, but I have to agree it might be too complicated.
I know it may be outside the price range, but inter-tel not only does this but has features designed specifically for it.
More reasonably priced, the samsung 100 or 500 has simultaneous ring, an IN/OUT group key, and can overflow to AA with either voicemail menus or simple announcements.
I thought about a used Axxess - which would certainly do the job. But that's a lot of phone system for a customer that will start out with four CO lines and eight telephones.... Mike
I think some version of the Magix allows 'simulataneous ring' for group calling. We've got everything you've menteiond on our Legend, except that 'agents' are set to least idle, not simultaneous
