Have a 200 ICP with 6 peripheral bays and a PRI card. Bay 5 has gone down a couple of times and it has been the BCC III card. Just replaced it a few days ago and it is down again. This last time the first replacement sent in was bad and had to be replaced. Is this just coincidence or something else. When the bay is up all the cards in it seem to be running fine and I had on-site tech swap the power supplies and that did not seem to be the problem.
Any other suggestions?

You know Dane, I had this problem happen twice to me. I replaced the card and short time later bam! dead again, replaced it, Bam dead again. I would chalk it up for coincidence--we all know how those BCC-III's are.

Swap the BCC III with one from a working cabinet next time you replace it.

Did that Doc - had a tech on site just now - rolled the cards - verified it was a bad BCC III

I had to replace 2 cards in less than a week in the system at our shop and the same thing at a customers site just a few weeks later. These were the cards from our system fresh back from Mitel! I just dont like BCCIII.

Only real problems I have had with BCC IIIs seem to be the ones that have been repaired. In all honesty 98% of the ones that I have out there have been working for a long time without a blip.

Both the BCCIII and the PRI cards have had a similar fault. They both run vxworks and have some kind of ssd to contain the os and programming. There was a known bad component on both cards that has a limited number of "writes" to the ssd. I have been told that anything that has gone through repair this year should be OK. It's a "known" but not "advertised" issue.
