I have used 1103 to set the locations the keys route. However, the lights do not work properly and I see no 11xx command to set the button lights and the ports. It drives the receptionist nuts. She hits button 1 (601) and it lights 1 and and two others might light. Is there a command to set what port is in use, and light that button light only. Thanks.

make sure the console is set to the proper mode. down at the bottom, make sure EXT1 is lit. Double check that there is no duplicate data either. Also keep in mind the DSS console doesn't auto update when a item is changed, the status of the extension has to change, but I don't think that is your issue

I've also experienced problems with DSS lights when changing extension/port numbers. I found that a hard reset clears the problem every time.

Thanks for the input. I powered the unit this morning, since I did not know how to do a reset. And then moved some phone, but she said it was a lot better, so it probably worked, then the change messed a coulpe buttons up. Thanks. Is there a faster way to reboot?

Just dredging this topic up from the murky depths as I am now having the same trouble. I use 1103 to assign my 24 button DSS console. This is DSS console 3 attached to port 2 (the number of the phone being 201). And to test I used the last button (24) to point at extension 230 and now 223 as it was.
When I change the extensions that the buttons point at the buttons DO ring those extensions. But the lamps do not come on at any point.
I have unplugged the phone and its DSS from the wall for 5 minutes and plugged it back in but this does not help. I even did it on the target extensions I was trying to point the buttons at.
I presume I dont have to reboot the WHOLE system.
Also what is 1106 for? No changes I make in there seem to affect my issue either.
Finally it should be noted the buttons DO work if i leave them on their standard extensions (200 - 223). The lamps come on for the extensions then.

The only way to fix it is a system restart..
But the problem was cause by----port swapping / changing extension numbers in programming. Do not renumber extension on a nitsuko with a dss on it without expecting todo a system restart.
-If you move extensions around, physically move the jumper and you won't have that problem.

Thank you yet again sir, im begining to wish you lived nearby!!!
I have not moved any extensions or rewired or anything. Its just the lights on my DSS console that I want to represent different extensions than the 0-24 they are now. I want to be able to see other extensions instead like 31 and 33 and 34, which are our directors.

I agree with Mr. Telephone Man, you will need to reset the system to get the changes to take affect. In the future, either program the DSS keys through the phone or clear them through the PC program, disconnect and reconnect to make the actual changes.

hi i dont think there need to restart the system to set right the DSS after you have changed the ext no.just do the auto set up cmd 0004=1,then in 1101 reassign the DSS port again.
