Hello everyone,
I have not worked on a modkey in years, but i have a friend of mine that has one and the phone lines will not work any more. i dont have a manual any more (or at least i can't find it) well any way, i remember something in the manual saying something about not to use more than a 25 foot line cord on the system but he only has 2 lines and said that neither of them work (he doesn't have the CO line expansion module just the 2 built in CO ports) i went over and looked at it. he said that the phone cords got cut by an employee that he fired and that employee apparently decided to go out with a bang. so he but a 25 foot cord on both of them. he went to a phone and both CO lines would not work, so he called me and i went over and told him that i think that on the modkye you have to use a cord that is under 25 feet. so i put on some 6ft cords and it still wouldn't work. So like i said before i think i remember seeing something about you cant use 25ft cords on the ksu, but that wouldnt kill the CO line ports on the system would it??? Thanks in advanced for the reply's.

Thanks,
Daniel

line cord length had nothing to do with it if you can plug dial tone directly into the system and aren't getting dial tone then it sounds like the KSU is gone south.

do the phones work otherwise intercom , lights etc etc ?

sounds like the co ports are bad , you could try adding a 4 co mod and programing out lines one and two or replace the KSU
