I am not sure why, but on this Nortel/Norstar CICS 6.1 phone system, all the phones ring once before the CallPilot Auto Attendant feature picks up, even though I have the call pilot set to zero rings. Needless to say, this is kind of annoying to the users of the phone system. Can someone tell me why it does this or how to stop it.

The call pilot will need at least a half a ring to realize the incoming line and pick it up so if you have zero ring then you should remove ringing from the phones and have the lines assigned as appear only not appear and ring.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of trying that and you confirmed my thoughts.

You may also have to set the VM DN number as the Prime Set for the incoming lines. If a line does not have ringing assigments, and the prime set for that line is still set to the receptionist phone, you will still get a short ring on that phone before AA picks it up.
