To do an all call from a M7310 at customers location, you press INTERCOM 0#... It did work but now when pressing INTERCOM 0# the speakers make a loud steady beeping tone... like an electronic fire alarm speaker. (DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!) The paging processor works great from buttset so it might be the system.. i just cant find out where.

The paging is from a page port on the system. Paging is from the handset. Does the same thing on every set connected.
Sorry.

Try connecting your buttset to the page port and have someone page. If it works ok without the amp connected and squeels when amp is connected you may have a bad ground or a goumd loop.

Metelcom,
Thanks for the idea! I hadnt thought of that. I did try it, with no luck. The Squeel (alarm tone) still is solid as ever just a little faded.
It doesnt even sound like a squeel it sounds like a never ending page tone that goes off before the page. (i checked the settings and it is set for a 2 second tone blurp.)

Have you tried shutting the pre alert tone off? Does audio come out with tone or just tone?

You can hear a slight resemblance of a page behind the tone... The tone sounds even when it is in the OFF position.

What's throwing me is the intercom 0# part, never saw paging done that way. How is the paging processor connected to the system? Sounds like to me it may be tapped off the speaker of the phone that is set as the Direct Dial phone for some reason. Can you shed some more light on the type of paging controller and how it is terminated to the system?

What pair is the paging amp terminated to? While I have never done it myself , I have heard that on occasion some techs will confuse the MICS wiring scheme with the old 824's. The outputs are different. When you put a buttset on a station port, you will hear a high pitched tone, but don't know if a page would actually come across or not. (Tried to add this to the above post, but have'nt figured that out on the new board yet, all it would let me do was preview but never submit)
